There needs to be more awareness, training and public outrage for these common occurrences killing our wildlife.

Mission

We saw a news report regarding the Bear in Naples Florida. We encourage and would like to see your office bring attention to the public and officials in that area to refrain from killing or euthanizing these precious animals which are usually just trying to find food for themselves or their cubs. They should be tranquilized and brought back to their habitat. Recently a mother bear and her cubs in Canton, Ohio were looking for food and based on a report harming no one and a rush to judgment of the officials euthanizing the mother bear and tranquilized the four cubs which one baby bear died as a result of. The Officials put the three baby bears back into the wild with no mother to teach them to fend for themselves or protect themselves against other animals. There needs to be more awareness, training and public outrage for these common occurrences killing our wildlife.

WE ARE THEIR ONLY VOICE.

Thank you

We have sent Letters to the Officials in Florida, Ohio and Colorado, PETA, World Wildlife Fund, Newsweek to get the word out but if everyone sent a letter to them maybe they would do something to stop these killings for their own gain

The Wildlife Manager, their agents and any other governmental agency or officer should be prosecuted including but not limited to cruelty to animals. Instead of euthanizing these animals, they should use alternative methods like tranquilizing them and returning them to their habitat.

These actions are a rush to judgment and not only heartless,

but they are wrong.

Since there warning signs that this bear comes close to human contact in the area. The officials should have tranquilized this precious bear if the authorities were watching they should have been tranquilized and brought them to a sanctuary or moved to another Forrest so this attack might not have happened. our wildlife.

To remove ESA (the endangered Species Act) protections for the grizzly bear in the Rocky Mountains or any of lower 48 states is cruel and unnecessary. These precious animals have babies to take care of and were here first.  What gives humans the right to hunt and kill them.

A bird hunter narrowly avoided disaster when he was charged by a nearly 700-pound grizzly bear near Glacier National Park, state officials said.
The Washington state man, 51, whose name has not been released, was hunting with his wife Tuesday afternoon on a private property east of Choteau when the 677-pound male grizzly stormed out of the brush, Montana Department of Fish, Wildlife and Parks (FWP) said. Authorities said that the hunter was knocked down and trampled by the bear. He stopped the attack by wounding the bear with a handgun and a shotgun. The man spent Tuesday night in the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. “The…bear had no known previous history of human conflict and had never been handled by bear managers,” the agency said. “Evidence at the site suggested the attack was the result of a (alleged) surprise encounter.” After the couple left the area and notified authorities, FWP specialists, game wardens, and county officials used a drone to locate and euthanize the bear after consulting with the US Fish and Wildlife Service

This situation should be handled differently “Shame on You”. They should have tranquilized the Bear, instead of killing it. That should have been the last resort under extraordinary circumstances. We take their land and there access to food and then kill them.

A man in Colorado is facing felony charges after officials claim he intentionally killed a black bear and her cubs.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife Commission officers arrested Paul Stromberg, 52, on charges of illegal destruction of wildlife, claiming he illegally killed the family of bears near his home in Howard.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) officers on Friday discovered three bears – a sow and two cubs – had been killed and dumped on state trust land southeast of Salida," CPW said in an official statement.

A search was launched "responding to reports on social media and anonymous tips of an alleged poaching incident."

Authorities claim they found evidence of the alleged poaching after executing a search and arrest warrant on his property.

The department explained, "The CPW investigation led Wildlife Officers to obtain a search warrant on Saturday for a home near Howard where they found evidence the bears had been shot there early on Monday, Sept. 25."

Evidence allegedly included the bodies of the three poached bears.

Stromberg was taken to Fremont County Jail and later released on a $10,000 bond.

This situation was handled the right way by arresting him. This killer should get serious jail time to send a clear message to others.

On the evening of September 30, a sow grizzly bear charged an elk hunter in thick timber near Henry’s Lake, Idaho. According to an Idaho Department of Fish & Game (IDFG) press release issued this morning, the hunter yelled to alert his partner about the charging Bear before firing several shots from his sidearm that killed the bear “only a short distance way, before it was able to make contact.”

“The hunter immediately called the Citizens Against Poaching hotline to report the incident,” the press release states. “Idaho Department of Fish and Game responded to the call and conducted a thorough investigation. It was determined that the hunter acted in self-defense during a surprise encounter with the bear from a very close distance.”

On Tuesday, September 26, less than one week before the recent Idaho incident, a man shot and killed another charging grizzly in self defense in the Beattie Gulch area of Montana, immediately north of Yellowstone National Park. Officials with Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service, and the U.S. Forest Service determined that that bear was “likely acting defensively” when the hunter shot it at close range. As the crow flies, Beattie Gulch is approximately 40 miles southwest of Henry’s Lake, Idaho. Both areas are within the Great Yellowstone Ecosystem (GYE), where grizzly bears thrive.

Henry’s Lake is about 20 miles north of the community of Island Park, Idaho. Back on September 1, two archery elk hunters had a grizzly bear run-in just west of Island Park. Both men escaped the incident uninjured after discharging their sidearms and killing the surprised bear as it charged toward them.

Most big game seasons in the West are only a month in at this point, but it’s already been a banner year for dangerous grizzly bear encounters in the GYE and other areas known to hold grizzlies. One particularly gruesome attack near the resort town of Big Sky sent a deer hunter to the hospital with a missing lower jaw. On September 12, a man shot and injured a charging grizzly while hunting upland birds near Montana’s Freezeout Lake Wildlife Management Area. One day later, a whitetail deer hunter nearly lost his trophy buck to a big boar grizzly in the same general area.

In light of Idaho’s most recent grizzly-related incident, IDFG officials are urging hunters to exercise extreme caution while pursing game in the Gem State. “Grizzly bears are protected under State and Federal law, and Fish and Game would like to remind hunters that grizzly bears may be encountered in the Greater Yellowstone area as well as in north Idaho,” the agency said in its Tuesday morning press release. “Carry bear spray and keep it accessible. Hunt with partners and make each other aware of plans. Look for grizzly bear sign, including fresh tracks. Let partners know if you do see sign.”

.

This situation should have been handled differently. If the bears was charging allegedly which seem to be the identical claim with other story bears as hunters they should have a spray or something other then to shoot the bear and not killed it. That should have been the last resort.

Hunters should be required to wear cameras to prove a bear was charging to see what really happened.

A Montana couple got a late-night wakeup call from a barking dog alerting them that a black bear had broken into their living room before the man shot and killed the animal with a handgun. The confrontation with the large bear happened in the rural community of Luther at the base of the rugged Beartooth Mountains, where Thomas Bolkcom and fiance Seeley Oblander live with their two dogs. After staying up late the night before — the couple was scheduled to fly that morning to Arizona for their bachelor and bachelorette parties — they awakened about 3 a.m. to their dog Maizey barking furiously upstairs from the house's main floor, Oblander said. Bolkcom, 27, a commercial painter and elk hunter, went to investigate and tried to coax the lab-pit bull mix downstairs when he turned around “and there’s this black bear standing in the living room five feet away," Oblander said.

Wearing only a t-shirt and underwear, Bolkcom ran back downstairs, got a handgun and returned to the living room where he shot the bear. It ran into another room so he shot the bear several more times. The animal had broken in through a screened window. Oblander, 26, said it had no other way out and was between Bolkcom and the door. “I never thought there would be a bear in our house, so that was quite the wakeup call at three in the morning,” she said. “I just stayed downstairs with the dogs, trying to help keep them out of the way and let Tom handle it. He did a great job.” The couple and Bolkcom's brother dragged the bear outside then called their fathers, who came to the house to meet with a game warden so the others could catch a morning flight.

The warden told them the bear was about 10 years old and 250-300 pounds (113-136 kilograms), said Rocky Oblander, who returned to the house Friday to remove blood-stained carpets. “At least nobody got hurt,” he said. “It's just too sad because it was a beautiful bear.”

The warden determined the shooting was justified in self-defense, said Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks spokesperson Chrissy Webb. Black bears frequent the area and in recent weeks one had been prowling the neighborhood, getting food from unsecured garbage cans and other sources, Webb said. Although the house that was broken into did not have unsecured food or garbage, Webb said the bear likely became habituated to associate humans with food, creating a dangerous situation for local residents and the animal.

This situation should have been handled differently. They should have tried to chase it out of the house, instead of shooting him. That should have been the last resort.

HOW IS IT SELF DEFENSE WHEN THE BEAR WAS RUNNING AWAY TRYING TO GET OUT.

Grizzly Bear

A black bear was "destroyed" over the weekend in Canada's Jasper National Park after the animal confronted a pair of hikers on a trail and killed one of their dogs who was off its leash and aggressive to the bear in a predatory act, officials said. This is why all dogs should be on a leash when you know there are wild animals in their territory.

There needs to be more awareness, training and public outrage for these common occurrences of killing our wildlife.

STOP THE UNNECESSARY KILLINGS OF OUR PRECIOUS WILDLIFE

A grocery store in Petersburg, Alaska had an unexpected customer Tuesday, leaving store employees and other shoppers in shock.

black bear cub was spotted roaming the produce aisle at the Petersburg's Trading Union IGA, scaring customers, Alaska News Source reported.

Alaska State Troopers, two wildlife troopers and units from the Petersburg Police Department were called to the scene, where officers chased the cub through the aisles of fruits and vegetables with a steel catch pole, video footage from the incident shows. After some struggle, authorities were able to corner and catch the young cub where the shopping carts are stored.

The black bear was escorted out and loaded into the back of a trooper vehicle, after a lot of fuss and protest. "The bear was small and emaciated for this time of year," explained Freeman. "It did not have any measure of fat that would have sustained it through the winter. It was also abandoned, for unknown reasons, and therefore did not have any way to significantly acquire resources to recover from its condition." The spokesperson further said that the bear would not likely be able to handle the stress of transportation to a holding facility, and no known facilities had placement for a black bear. The baby bear was euthanized.

This situation should have been handled differently. They should have tried to help the baby bear instead of a rush to judgement and killing it which is all too common especially by law enforcement and conservation officers. Animals do bounce back, and the baby bear should have been given to someone who cared for it or to a zoo. Seems like Nothing was even tried, just convenient conclusions and a dead baby bear. Obviously, it was hungry being in a grocery store. Maybe they should have given the baby some food instead of death. All involved should be fired and prosecuted.

SHAMEFUL
